The CMEG weekend bootcamp is conducted several times per year and is taught by Marki Costello, owner of CMEG and granddaughter of comedy screen legend, Lou Costello.

bootcamp overview
Check in for bootcamp begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. Class lasts until 5 p.m. on Saturday and continues on Sunday at 10 a.m. and runs til 5 p.m. However, you will be filming on Sunday afternoon so depending on when you film you could be finished anywhere from 2:30-5:00. During the weekend, you'll practice reading all types of host copy and learn basic techniques of television hosting.
On Sunday, you'll dress up and look your best as the workspace transforms into a television studio. You'll read from a teleprompter with a professional sound/light/camera crew in front of a green screen. You will need to contact Open Door Productions (310-207-8955) the next week to make an appointment to pick up your footage. Materials are $3.00 for VHS tape and $20.00 for a DVD. You can use the hosting segments you film as either a guide for what you need to work on or if you think they turn out great you can use them as a segment on a reel! When you're done with this weekend, you will have an extremely helpful bag of tricks to audition as a television host!

Class size is limited and fills up very quickly. Call CMEG at 310.207.7333 and leave your name and contact number and you'll be informed of the next HOST BOOTCAMP! As the seminar fills up quickly, we require students to put down a non-refundable deposit of $250. You may move the deposit to be used for a future seminar ONLY if you call 72 hours in advance of the bootcamp. The 72 hours begins on Wednesday morning the week of the bootcamp. If you call on Wednesday or after you will lose your deposit of $250. The remaining balance is due on the day of the bootcamp in cash or check.
on-going host classes
Once you've taken our hosting bootcamp, you become eligible for either the Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced on-going hosting class. The classes are seperated into 3 different levels to better serve the needs of each individual student. Beginning class is Monday night from 7-10. Intermediate Class is Tuesday night from 7-10. Advanced Class is Thursdays from 1-3:30. The classes run the entire month and you must start in the first class of the month, you can't start in the middle of the month. The cost for the class is a flat $250 per month, due prior to the first class of each month.
