Biography
“Chet's flamboyant style and energetic personality always make him the life of the party.” - MTV
Chet Cannon is truly a one of a kind. Whether conducting interviews with A-list musicians like Lil Jon and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy or performing daring maneuvers on a snowboard, Chet will always engage a large crowd.
In August of 2008, Chet received a jumpstart on his vocation when he was chosen, from among an estimated 70,000 hopefuls, to be a part of "The Real World: Brooklyn" cast. With his keen wit and fearless personality, he quickly became one of the season’s most memorable and popular personalities.
Due to Chet’s tight jeans, purple clothing, and antics throughout the season, he became a staple to Joel McHale’s, “The Soup.” Chet, who was referred to by Joel as “not gay Chet,” was then flown out to Los Angeles to accept an award for The Best Display Of Homoeroticism By A Straight Male in the 2009 Soup Awards.
Before arriving in Brooklyn, Chet had been studying Finance at the University of Utah and was an accomplished snowboarder. While in college, and as a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, Chet gained experience as a host when he was asked to MC many philanthropic, as well as fraternity/sorority, events. While attending the University, Chet created and hosted a popular, comedic radio program, "Chet Chat." The name stuck and has now become the moniker for interviews conducted for Young Hollywood, Buzznet and FriendOrEnemies.com.
After wrapping the show in 2009, Chet relocated to Los Angeles where he began working as an entertainment correspondent with Young Hollywood. Due to his MTV popularity, Chet has been a participant in several MTV projects, including "The Real World S#!t Show" and various Real World After Shows, interviewed on numerous red carpet events, and due to popular demand, become a staple MC for Karaoke night at Pete Wentz’s bar, Angels and Kings. He continues to lend his on-camera talent to various networks and platforms, landing host roles on AT&T U-Verse Buzz's "HGTV Dream Home" and a VEVO pilot entitled, "Concert Quiz." Chet is also a fashion analyst for Us Magazine.
Spontaneity is one of Chet's more defining characteristics. He is always ready to sit and talk business but, on a moment’s notice, can also be found dancing on a table. In his spare time, Chet is actively involved with snowboarding, skateboarding, videography and improv/sketch comedy.
