Alana Stewart

Biography

Alana Stewart is an actress, host, author and spokesperson. She began her career by leaving her home state of Texas and heading to New York City to become a Ford model. Soon, she began her acting career appearing on such popular television series as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Bionic Woman, Hart to Hart, The Fall Guy, Masquerade and the mini-series Small Sacrifices and Lonesome Dove. Film roles include: Allan Carr’s Where the Boys Are, Jonathan Demme’s Swing Shift, The Ravagers with Richard Harris, the independent film Between which debuted at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, American Intellectuals, Dangerous Company, Medusa, Wasted in Babylon, Mom Can I keep Her and Delivered, which recently premiered at WorldFest-Houston, an international film festival. It received the special Grand Jury Prize and Alana was awarded Best Supporting Actress.

Alana hosted the popular talk show The George and Alana Show with ex-husband George Hamilton. Later, she appeared on the ABC hit reality show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and on VH1 in Meet The Family: The Hamiltons.

In 2007, Alana began working with her dear friend, Farrah Fawcett on Farrah’s Story, a documentary of Farrah’s courageous struggle with cancer which Alana filmed and produced. In 2009, Farrah’s Story debuted on NBC to record-breaking viewers and was nominated for an Emmy Award as an Outstanding Nonfiction Special.

Alana also released her first book in 2009, the New York Times bestseller, My Journey With Farrah- A Story of Life, Love and Friendship. In her second book, Alana reveals her compelling personal story in Rearview Mirror: A Memoir (Published by Vanguard Press, September 2012). Alana serves as president of The Farrah Fawcett Foundation which funds cancer research and supports those fighting cancer. 

Alana has appeared on most major media outlets including CNN, Bill O’Reilly, Barbara Walters, Larry King, The View, Nightline and Huckabee. She has made numerous appearances on The Today Show with Meredith Viera, Extra, Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood.

Alan recently received the prestigious Genii Award for the American Women in Radio and Television for excellence in documentary filmmaking for Farrah’s Story. In April of 2011, Alana received The John Wayne Cancer Institute “True Grit Humanitarian Award. The only other recipients have been Nancy Reagan, Larry King and Bonnie Hunt.
